Our day

Ingrid spent the day on Matt's hip, chest, lap...anything near him.  She even will walk without holding anyones hands to get to him!  She looked at me when Matt said "mama" today but she still will scream if I take her away from him.  Right now my job is to be the one to feed her (until today she really wouldn't eat much of anything for us), bathe her, change her, and continue to whisper in her ear.  The boys get to play with her.  She is learning slowly to trust us as we saw her cling to Matt even more, let the boys get near her and be silly with her, and I can make eye contact with her without her crying.  Baby steps for a child who didn't really get to go through baby steps.  She went swimming today...

We went to a fun place for lunch with our guide, Ann.  Two sides of a pot that cook in front of you.  We had dumplings and a flower vegetable, mushrooms, meats, and more.  Almost like a fondue.  Then we toured a bit around Nanchang.  Tomorrow we leave for Guangzhou- the last city before we coming home.  Apparently Guangzhou is a bit more western.  We have truly enjoyed the people in this city- kind people with a rich, proud heritage with their whole focus on family.

We've had a great time in the city of Nanchang

  1. Just love reading each post about your family in China, and watching Ingrid's sweet heart unfold bit by bit as you all woo her with your love and steadfast patience. You and Matt are, as you always are, being such a wonderful team. Matt is going to need a visit to the chiropractor when he gets home from all that holding, bending, etc! Ha ha! Good thing little Miss Ingrid is such a peanut. Her smile is so sweet in the photos, replacing the more solemn face of just a few days ago. It is like watching a flower blossom to see these photos in order of the days. Oh, Ingrid! Welcome to family: forever and always!

  3. Hi Anderson's. Wow, you guys are taking us down memory lane. The latest memories are regarding the pictures from the Pavillion in Nanchang. We find it amazing that of all the places in the world that you could be with your Ingrid that you are in the same place that we were 8+ years ago with Sarah, taking the same pictures. We put some of your photos side by side with a photo album of ours, wow. The Walmart visit brought back memories as well. You are in the home stretch, enjoy Guangzhou! Can't wait to see you guys and meet Ingrid! God is Good! The Sprengers
