Yes! Ingrid is ours and she is with us forever!!!! We were supposed to receive her the afternoon after we arrived in Nanchang. On the way to our hotel from the airport our guide told us she would be coming in one hour! We got up to our room, and as we said two boys wrestled, Noah paced like a concerned big brother, Bjorn got his camera ready (those pictures to come), Matt just had a satisfied joy-filled peaceful smile, and Kris cried. We prayed as a family in our room thanking God for this gift and asking for peace for Ingrid and patience and grace for us. All six of us went down the elevator to the lobby when they called. We walked out and there she was- a beautiful child of God who would be in our family forever! The orphanage director and caregivers were holding her. Her hair stuck straight up, and her eyes- her beautiful eyes were filled with tears. We held her and loved her and all gathered around her. After a few minutes the orphanage people handed us some of her formula and Chinese porridge and asked for money for those two things. She was handed to us with pajamas, shoes, and formula. That's it. She never had anything of her own.
They did give us some of the items we had sent her in the package months before so we do know she received it.!
We went up to our our room and in as much as she looked terrified with bursts of tears, there were also smiles for the boys! We are overjoyed to share with you some pictures of the first hours with her. We praise God her creator who loves her and us more than we can ever imagine!
